Due to fine insulating properties of rice husk like low thermal conductivity, high melting point, low bulk density high porosity, it used for the production of high quality steel.It is also used as a coating over the molten metal in the tundish and in ladle which act as a very good insulator and does not allow quick cooling of metal.
