Imazethapyr is a systemic herbicide, absorbed by the roots and foliage, with translocation in the xylem and phloem, and accumulations in the merristamatic region. It controls major, annual and perennial grass and broad leaved weeds in soyabeans, groundnuts and other leguminous crops. It is applied as pre-plant incorporation, pre-emergance and or post-emergance. It inhibits synthesis of amino acids leading to disruption of protein and DNA synthesis. Imazethapyr falls under Toxicity Class a III" by WHO (a.i) & EPA (formulation).
