Put 1 cup of water and 200 grams of rice into a heavy based pan or vessel2. For more taste, one can add salt, butter or oil3. Cover the vessel, bring it to boil and then down the heat4. Simmer it for 10 minutes till the time the water gets absorbed and grain get separated5. Drain well and serve hotMICROWAVE METHOD1. The rice cooking is done on 650 watt microwave2. Using a deep microwave safe bowl, add 1 cup of rice3. Add 2 cups of water and salt, butter or oil, if desired4. Cover the bowl with the cling film or plastic5. Let it cook on high for maximum 6 minutes and stir6. Cover the bowl again and cook on defrost for 6 minutes7. Finally, serve it with dal or other dishesCOMBINED METHOD1. Boil as per open pan method and covered pan/ closed pot method for only 7 minutes2. Rinse the boiled rice with cold water3. Transfer it to a microwaveable bowl4. Put is aside5.
