Natural Processed Kaveri rice, also called Parboiled, is the preferred rice of South India. In this process, the harvested rice seed is soaked in water and steamed under pressure before being dried and milled. This procedure gelatinizes the starch in the rice, and locks in nutrients from the husk which would otherwise be lost during polishing. Our Natural Processed Kaveri rice is known as one of the best varieties available. The bran layer is slightly brownish due to its longer milling process which allows it to retain more vitamins and minerals. Parboiled white rice grains are translucent, giving a bright colour and pleasant aroma when cooked. Curries made from parboiled rice tend to be thicker, creamier, and have a better flavour than when cooked with other types of rice.
