Barley, (Hordeum vulgare), oat plant of the grass family Poaceae and its eatable grain. Filled in an assortment of conditions, grain is the fourth biggest grain crop around the world, after wheat, rice, and corn. Grain, Hordeum vulgare, is a consumable yearly grass in the family Poaceae developed as a cereal grain crop. It is a tall grass with a bristly stem which stands erect and creates spikelets at the head. Grain (Hordeum vulgare L.) grain might have yellow, blue, purple tone brought about by gathering of flavonoids compounds in particular layers of grain. Proanthocyanidins blended in seed coat gave yellow-hued grains that can't be recognized from non-hued white ones.
