CARDANOL IS AN ALKYL PHENOL DERIVED FROM NATURAL AGRICULTURAL Source of Cashew Nut Shell Liquid (CNSL) containing Cardols & some 2 methyl cardols, when distilled, will yield Cardanol, which can be classified as Penta Decyl Phenol belonging Ethoxylates - Alkyl Phenoal Ethoxylate, Nonylphenol Ethoxylate, Octylphenol Ethoxylate, Dodecyl Phenol Ethoxylate to monohydroxyl phenol having a long hydrocarbon chain (C15-C27) in the meta position and an OH group for introducing ethylene oxide or sulphonate group or both for surfactant properties.
