Other industrial uses include the manufacture of pharmaceuticals, polymers, pyroxylin plastics, herbicide esters, printing and butyl xanthate. It is also used as a diluent/reactant in the manufacture of ureaa formaldehyde and melaminea formaldehyde resins.
