Hydrophobe is a water dilutable alkali alkyl siliconate used for imparting a colorless water repellent surface finish to mineral building material without significantly reducing water vapour permeability. omtex - silwr05 develops its water repellent properties by reaction with atmospheric carbon dioxide (co2). The active substance formed from the silicone water repellent is polymethylsilica. It is also used to provide a barrier against rising damp and the treatment remains effective for 5 a 10 years.
