Product Overview
GRAPHITE WATER BASE COATING, A black, easily-workable paste, GP-1419W, contains a mixture of crystalline and amorphous graphiteAca a cs. It is readily reduces in water. CHARACTERISTICS: GP-1419W is particularly suited for light section iron castings where finish, dimensional accuracy and complete peel are most important. It is effective at extremely low solids content which provides excellent economy in use. Automotive cylinder head jackets, motor body, manifolds and other cores for light, precision castings of this type are ideal for GP-1419W. Oil sand, shell and hot box cores can be coated by spray, dip or automated coating system. The total absence of foam and high dilution of GP-1419W allow coating of hot cores from shell or hot box operations without residual pock-marking or excessive coating build-up. Cores with difficult-to-wet surfaces can be coated by using 10-20% alcohol in place of some of the water. The cause of the problem is usually surface density, wax or parting agents on the core. This alcohol addition (isopropyl alcohol is recommended) does not improve penetration and wetting of the core surface. PHYSICAL PROPERTIES : Refractory / Filler: Graphite Color: Black, Silvery Form: Paste Solvent: Water, Water/Isopropanol Density: 200 gms Paste + 200 ml D.M. => 16 Sec +
