That is the temperature to which it must be cooled before a single drop of water can condense out. Thus about half the refrigeration capacity is spent in dry cooling the air from 22C to 10C, making the dehumidifier only 50% effective. In other words, a one ton unit would be needed to meet a dehumidification load of only half a ton. Not only does the unit itself waste energy, but it also needs a larger air conditioner to carry away the extra heat generated by it.PANIETM high efficiency dehumidifier has a patented dual pressure evaporator. Here the 22C room air entering the unit transfer its heat to the supply air, which has been chilled to 4C by the cooling coil of the refrigeration system. As a result, the room air cools down to about 12C while the supply air heats up to about 14C during the counter current heat exchange. The actual figures may vary, depending on the cleanliness of the surfaces. The exchanger module is integrated in to the refrigerating circuit, forming the patented dual pressure evaporator.The refrigeration system has a compressor, condenser and a cooling coil, along with associated wiring, piping and controls. The cooling coil is designed to take in the pre-cooled air and further Chill it to a dew point of 4C. The same air then goes through the heat exchanger as described above and comes out of the condenser coil at about 45C and 4C dew point. The relative humidity of the air at this point is 8 to 10%.
